With AccuWeather Alerts Severe Weather Notifications, receive up-to-the-minute alerts that read "Severe Weather Potential," "Severe Weather Threat," and "Dangerous Weather Imminent!" through our API. These alerts provide details on upcoming and developing severe weather events, including tornadoes, high winds, flash flooding, hurricanes, tropical storms, blizzards, snow, and ice.
AccuWeather Alerts replaces and extends the usefulness of official government weather watches and warnings, describing potential threats for better decision making.

Government-issued alerts
AccuWeather's government-issued alerts provides severe weather warnings from official government meteorological agencies and leading global weather alert providers worldwide.
- Alert searches require a location key. Please use the Locations API to obtain the location key for your desired location.
- The alert's full text is not returned by default. Include "details=true" in the query string to return the full text.
- If multiple alerts are active for the same location, the alerts will be returned in order of priority within the API response, with the highest priority alert being returned at the top of the response.
