Setup
To set up demo or production access to AccuWeather's Government Push Alerts, follow the instructions below in coordination with your AccuWeather account representative. Your representative initiates the connection on AccuWeather's side. You complete the setup on your AWS account.
Alerts flow from AccuWeather to your AWS account
- AccuWeather publishes each alert to an Amazon SNS topic.
- The Amazon SNS topic fans out to your Amazon SNS queue.
- Your system reads the alert.
Connect your queue

Provide AccuWeather with the Amazon resource name (ARN) for the Simple Queue Service (SQS) queue. The ARN value is in the format
arn:aws:sqs:{region}:{account-id}:{queue-name}. -
AccuWeather will complete the required subscription and permission configuration upon receiving your ARN. Amazon Web Services will send a subscription confirmation message to your SQS queue.

Confirm the subscription using the Subscribe URL included in the AWS subscription confirmation message. The subscription confirmation message may expire, so this step should be completed promptly after AccuWeather initiates the request. Once the subscription is confirmed, the SQS queue will be ready to receive messages from AccuWeather.
